Watch Our Brief Videos
A lot of time is spent collecting data and completing assessments to determine in which area(s) your child needs help. It's important that you understand the meaning of all that information collected. We can help you understand this information and empower you to advocate for those services your child needs in school. The videos below give you a visual representation of the problems we all face with school/private evaluations and a solution we know works.
Our system and services will take you from step 1 to step 4.

About the eBook
"I read your book and I am very impressed. The GPS idea is a very clever way of explaining what should be done at the IEP. It is very professionally done, easy to follow and well organized. Well done."
- Marc Levine, Retired Special Education Judge
"Vaughn Lauer you're amazing!! I'm still learning how to advocate for my son…and myself. Maybe one day I can help others as well. Thank you for helping us parents that feel lost, and sometimes helpless."
- Carla Cox, Parent
About the Special Education Decoder System
"This resource will prove to be a game-changer for parents and advocates. It is what we've needed for years - showing with clear visuals the strengths and weaknesses of our children. I've taken it to numerous team meetings and have had an incredibly positive response (and outcome) at each. Thank you Vaughn Lauer."
- Ann A., Parent and Advocate
"The Special Education Decoder System is a great tool for your advocacy toolkit! …The school led me to believe that they planned to deny Dyslexia services. I scheduled a meeting with the Dyslexia department and used the graph to point out her strengths and weaknesses in a clear, concise, and easy to understand manner using the Special Education Decoder System. …By the end of the meeting, they agreed that she needed Dyslexia services and thanked me for being so proactive in fighting for my child's needs. I highly recommend this program to ease the burden of test evaluation for both parents and advocates!"
- D.P., Parent
About the SEDS course
"So glad that your offering this program again, Vaughn! It has been incredibly valuable for anyone who has a child with an IEP or 504 in the public school system! If you know how to read and interpret the data in those educational reports then you can effectively argue for what your child needs. Using the data to show needs is the best way to "encourage" your school to collaborate and to help your child!"
- Janna Ciesielski, Parent and Advocate
"I can't stress enough how important this course is to any parent, teacher, or professional, that is advocating for a child with an IEP. What I have learned from this course, I utilize every day in my advocacy business. Vaughn's expertise in special education is amazing. He truly is an incredible educator and mentor."
- Kerri Perez, Parent and Advocate
About the Book
"I highly recommend Vaughn's book [When the School Says No…How to Get the Yes]. It's easy to read and gives many examples of many different scenarios of things that can happen at school and how you can work effectively and collaboratively with the school personnel. I truly wish it was in publication years ago when I was struggling through the process without any knowledge of how the system works. Even though I've learned a lot over the years, I found things in the book, I can improve on in order to get us all on the same page during our meetings."
- Maria Spremulli Milik, Parent and Advocate
"The techniques developed by Lauer might well be adapted to many other human endeavors where one group must interact with others to achieve a common goal."
- A. Loux, Parent and Author
